Wanna feel young?

Go south after the beginning of November! Not only did Bob and I notice that we were at least a decade younger than anyone on the highway going South (and there was NOBODY going North as we are meandering home), but we got some strange looks from folks in the Motorhome Resort on Hilton Head Island!

Don't get me wrong, the campground was absolutely gorgeous albeit it was under some major renovations which rendered some of the amenities unavailable. The Health Club/Sauna was under construction but not available which didn't stop the campground from charging us $4/day recreation fee - apparently this applied to the use of the pool (it was windy and pretty cool, around 55 degrees) and if you were brave, the hot tub was genuinely at 104 degrees but then you'd have to enjoy the ambiance with a bunch of mexican workers trying to ignore you, or keep the horrified looks off their faces.

Our site was beautifully landscaped and had a built in L-shaped bench with picnic table and it was for sale for a mere $115,000! Anybody interested?

We had a nice, relaxing time at Hilton Head Island - but it turned out to be a destination that I would not recommend going to without a car! It's a very upscale area, and finding things are a challenge. They have a serious zoning laws apparently and trying to find any of the points of interest were difficult as there are no SIGNS! There are also no sidewalks for folks such as us who just wanted to take a walking tour about (we ended up trying to cross a hellacious rotary to get where we wanted to go - there were NO sidewalks on any of the side streets but the rotary itself had a nice sidewalk!).
We arrived Cherry Hill Park this evening after about 10 hours on the road and Bob's poring over maps and we're looking at checking out lots of war memorials tomorrow (it's looking like Friday will be better weather-wise than Saturday, so we'll be doing our outdoor stuff on Friday if we can).
More to follow. . . .

Hey, Jim, the vacation's not over - Bob and I have been alone for two weeks. Turning him into a memorial could STILL happen!
